RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (September 19, 2018) -- Mispro Biotech Services, a preclinical services company offering vivarium solutions for in-vivo science, announces the completion of a major renovation of its multi-user research facility in Research Triangle Park.
The six-month project added 10 state-of-the-art rooms to its existing 25,000-square-foot facility, primarily to handle the demand Mispro was seeing from North Carolina’s globally recognized biopharma and life sciences research community.
“We’ve seen increasing demand for our RTP facility as more and more organizations in the Triangle area learn of our space-plus-services solution,” said Mispro CEO Philippe Lamarre. “To create additional space for new clients, we decided to retrofit a section of the facility, which was large enough for 10 new rooms, giving us additional space to support six to eight new clients.”
Mispro operates and manages a network of multi-user vivarium research facilities that are accessible to biopharmaceutical organizations of all sizes for early-stage therapeutic product research and development. Mispro handles all animal care and compliance services in its vivarium facilities, allowing clients to conduct and control their own studies in stable and secure research environments. Mispro also offers Insource services, managing and staffing vivarium facilities for other organizations.
“We offer a flexible and economical solution to research organizations of all sizes for conducting early-stage in-vivo studies,” said Yohan Tessier, Mispro’s senior director of sales and business development. “With the influx of biotech companies in RTP and constant output from the area’s universities, space for research is at a premium. We provide an alternative to building a vivarium, and we also have several clients who have simply run out of room in their facilities and need the space.”
Mispro’s vivarium research facility, which opened in 2013, offers space for housing and procedures, with both private and shared room options for conducting in-vivo studies. Mispro supports its clients with comprehensive animal care services, including husbandry, veterinary, and compliance oversight that ensures the ethical and humane treatment of all research animals, at all times, and in every study conducted in its facilities.
Mispro’s RTP facility is one of five in its network. The others are in Cambridge, Mass., Farmingdale, N.Y., Manhattan, Long Island City, and Montréal.
